Flare, Booster System and Power Generation
The high quality LFG being generated from the Reseoest Landfill in Portugal required a flaring and booster system to be designed, supplied and commissioned for the primary use in a power generation plant. The system was designed so that constant extraction by the booster system on the well field could occur, with the LFG primarily used for power generation, but during maintenance periods the LFG could be easily re-directed to the flare in order to meet operational requirements.
The contract was comprised of the design, build and installation of a 500 m3/hr elevated flare with high pressure booster and inverter drive for gas pressure and booster speed control to the power generation plant, as well as installation of pipework from the flare to the power generation plant. An inlet gas analyser system on each flare system as well as a control system and connection to a SCADA system were also installed. The entire system was linked via telemetry with remote monitoring and interrogation, data logging, and remote start / stop, accessed both on site and at the UK based office.
